THE ONLY METAL CARTRIDGE THERMOSTATS THAT WITHSTAND MECHANICAL CLAMPING OR PINCHING OF CARTRIDGE WITHOUT AFFECTING THE SET CALIBRATION

SENSITIVE - RUGGED - CLEAN MAKE AND BREAK

RATING : 1200 WATTS, 115-230 VOLTS AC

SERIES FM THERMOSTATS ARE PATENTED #2,735,912, #2,770,699

WORKING PRINCIPLE

In the FM cartridge thermostat a thermosensitive bimetal element, in optimum thermal contact with the cartridge housing, actuates a pair of switch members to open and close its' contacts in response to temperature change. The bimetal is electrically insulated from the switch blades. Thermal strain relief is incorporated to prevent calibration drift.

FEATURES

  • Complete lack of reliance on the expansion of the cartridge shell for the make and break of contacts permits greater mounting flexibility. This assures correct operation when slight pressure might be applied to the cartridge shell during use.
  • Permits insertion into tighter fitting holes in metal blocks which results in rapid heat response and closer temperature control of the metal block.
  • Lead wires are mechanically strain relief protected to prevent external movement of wires from being transferred to the contact members in the enclosure.
  • Maximum temperature operation of the FM cartridge thermostat is 500°F.
  • Temperature differential as low as 1°F under ideal test conditions.
  • Temperature adjustment
    • Normally closed--turn adjustment screw counter-clockwise to increase temperature above room temperature.
    • Normally open--turn adjustment screw clockwise to increase temperature above room temperature.
    • One complete turn of the adjustment screw is 26°F up to 300°F maximum or 80°F up to 500°F maximum.
  • Brass cartridge is standard.
  • The outside diameter of the cartridge is .624" to fit into a 5/8" diameter hole.
  • MODEL FM-386, an extended version of the FM-132, measures 3-23/32" long.
  • Rating : 1200W. 115-230 V.A.C. **
  • FM series thermostats are covered under the UL Component Recognition Program

**Maximum rating applies for temperatures above 175°F.

DIFFERENTIAL EXPANSION CARTRIDGE
MODEL 364

Operates by the expansion and contraction of the outer cartridge shell which is coupled to an inner low expansion member and a sturdy switch assembly. Temperature range: approximately 60-500°F. Supplied with brass sheath and 1/2" NPT fitting. The Model 364 features rapid thermal response and a small temperature differential (1°F. measured at cartridge surface). Thermal strain relief prevents calibration drift if subjected to extreme temperatures below the set calibration. A built-in neon pilot light aids in fine calibration. Available only in normally closed contacts. Standard lead length is 8". The probe measures 5/8" diameter by 2-7/8" long.
RATING : 1500W. 115-230 V.A.C.
